VÄTERGY, together with an Independent Power Producer, is developing a green hydrogen production and distribution project for mobility in the South of Sweden. In partnership with another local partner, hydrogen will be supplied in a green hydrogen refueling station located on one of the main highways of Sweden that also plays a strategic role in the Trans-European transport network. In the area there are several hydrogen consumers that can potentially integrate green hydrogen in their industrial processes. This area is also a neuralgic point for heavy duty and long-haul transport and not far from the largest Swedish port.

Pre-feasibility study: H2 for Industrial Heat

VÄTERGY, together with an Independent Power Producer, were engaged to perform the techno-economic pre-feasibility analysis for the decarbonization of a limestone industrial plant by using green hydrogen instead of coal in their process. The conclusion is that the project would be feasible from a technical standpoint and hydrogen would help to reduce about 610,000 tons of Co2 over 20 years. The Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH) estimated for the project, assuming no grants or subsidies was below €5/kg

Pre-feasibility study: Green H2 for refinery

Description: VÄTERGY, together with an Independent Power Producer, were engaged to perform the techno-economic pre-feasibility analysis for the production of green hydrogen from solar power to be used in a refining process. The green hydrogen was aimed to partially replace the current use of grey hydrogen on the hydrotreating and hydrocracking processes.

The analysis envisaged the development of 150MW of greenfield photovoltaic and an a 50MW electrolyser. The project would allow to reduce about 1.5 million tons of CO2 over a 20 years period. The estimated Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH) estimated for the project, assuming no grants or subsidies, was below €5/kg.
